Paloma
Directed by Mónica G. CarterPaloma posits the existential question of humanity through the disection of emotional extremities and ambiguities.
Synopsis: A ‘paloma/dove’ finds herself transformed into the body of a woman after crashing into a glass window. The crash has made her sentient, unveiling the transparency of her animal exterior and into an anthropomorphic existense. Here, she has the capacity to reason, to ponder her existence, and understand her emotions. She’s no longer one with nature: one with the wind or one with the sea. Instead, she now contends with her ego, autonomy, and difference. Oscillating between a dark confusion and a joyful hysteria, the paloma must indulge in the complexities and corporality of being human.
